Short Game League

The Short Game League

Competitive chipping. Closest to the hole wins.

Checking the tee sheet…

How it works

  1. 1

Pick a Florida date, read the rules, sign the waiver, and you're on the tee sheet.

  2. 2

    Play 18 holes

Example layout: a 9-hole course played twice, or a 6-hole course played three times. That's 54 chips. The running clock is 1 minute to read, 45 seconds per player for all 3 balls, then 1 minute to move. Layouts shown are examples. Venues may use 6 or 9 holes.

  3. 3

    Knockout

After 54 chips, the top 8 play quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final. Each match is 2 holes, 3 balls, best total wins.

Rings, not a scorecard par

Every cup has temporary rings at 1, 2, and 3 feet. Make it and you get 5. Inside a foot is 3, inside two is 2, inside three is 1. Outside is 0. A ball touching the line counts for the closer ring.

A full main round is worth up to 270 points. These point values are still being tuned, and they all live in one place so we can change them without rewriting the site.

Who it's for

Scratch players and weekend warriors. If you can chip, you can play. All you need is a wedge and some nerve.

Weekend golfer

You love a chipping contest more than you love your driver. This is that, with a bracket.

Single digit

The landing zone and the gate will find the part of your short game you only practice alone.

Scratch and pro

Fifty-four chips, a 45-second clock, and a room full of people who came to get up and down.
